We have got a really special treat for you today. A good friend of ours, Conrad Ellestad is joining us today. Conrad is a great broker for American Mortgage and Equity Consultants, and is going to share with us 3 things not do do when purchasing a home.
Small hiccups can happen, so it's great to have a professional that can walk you through the steps and make sure you don't make any mistakes along the way. Before you purchase a home:
1. Do not establish any new credit
If you are already pre-approved, don't establish any new credit. This can mess up your debt-to-income ratio and result in you not being able to qualify for a home anymore.
2. Don't make any late payments
If you are late on just one payment, it can affect your credit score by 30 or 40 points. You may have been approved before, but after a few late payments, you won't be.
3. Do not make any large deposits
Any deposit over $500 will cause us to get a lot of information from you and it is a stressful process, for you and for us. Keep deposits under this amount, so everything goes smoother.
These are just 3 of the top 10 tips that Conrad has. If you would like the full list sent to you, just give us a call or send us an email and we will be happy to send it over.
